Office Policies


Office Hours
Mon-Fri: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
* Dr. Rodriguez is usually not in the office on surgery days.


Scheduling Appointments
Appointments can be scheduled either by the patient or the patient's referring Physician. Appointments must be scheduled during appropriate office hours. Note, the office does close for lunch (12:30 to 1:30 p.m.). To ensure convenience, appointments must be scheduled in advance. If the patient must cancel (or reschedule) his/her appointment, contact OISD at least 24 hours in advance. * For first time patients, please bring all previous medical records (including all types of x-rays films), as well as all insurance card(s). Scheduling for surgery and post-op visits will be decided between the patient and the Physician. A courtesy call will be made the day before for all scheduled appointments to confirm the pre-appointed time. Walk-ins are NOT accepted.


Phone Calls
Questions and concerns are best handled during regular business hours. All calls regarding scheduling of tests or surgeries, billing, or messages for the Physician will be returned as quickly as possible. During after hours, questions and concerns can be left on the OISD answering service. In the case of an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.


Prescriptions
New (including refill) prescriptions will only be handled during appropriate office hours, and only when all medical records are available. To ensure a timely medication refill, it is the responsibility of the patient to call the pharmacy before running out of the prescribed medication. Note, OISD will not take refills from the patient. For surgery patients, prescription calls will be handled the next office day following surgery. Note, prescriptions (new or refill) will NOT be handled on weekends.
